OpenAI Update on o3-Pro Pricing
OpenAI has posted an update on the pricing of its o3-Pro model. A screenshot of the pricing details is attached below.
Shortly after OpenAI CEO Sam Altman shared a post announcing an 80% price reduction for the o3 model, OpenAI has unveiled the new o3-Pro model. Below is a breakdown of its pricing based on token usage:
o3-Pro Pricing:
- Input: $20 / 1M tokens
- Output: $80 / 1M tokens
Batch pricing for the o3-Pro model is 50% cheaper:
- Input: $10 / 1M tokens
- Output: $50 / 1M tokens
For comparison, the o3-Pro model is 10 times more expensive than the standard o3 model, which is priced at:
- Input: $2.00 / 1M tokens
- Ouput: $8.00 / 1M tokens
However, o3-Pro is still 87% cheaper than the o1-Pro model, which costs:
- Input: $150.00 / 1M tokens
- Output: $600.00 / 1M tokens
The o3-Pro model has a knowledge cutoff of June 1, 2024, and features the slowest response speed among all models, but the highest reasoning.
The o3-Pro model is currently available to Pro and Team users. Access for Enterprise and Edu users will roll out within a week.
